  • Education Field Practicum

Requirements

  • Students who have completed all of the required courses in the MA program 200+ hours of teaching and observation in a Christian school​

Application

  • HISNET notice and application available from 13th to 15th week of each semester (1st to 4th week for students overseas)
  • After checking the criteria for selecting the practicum school, fill out the practicum school profile and submit it to the department office.
    : Students must request the practicum school to submit its profile via email to the department office (excluding Handong Global School)

More than 200 hours field practice during vacation or semester

Process

Stage Content
Preparation
  1. Search for the school you wish to train in and contact the school to check if field practicum is possible
  2. Meet with the professor for confirmation after selecting the school where practicum is possible
  3. Fill out the field practicum application form and submit it to the department office
  4. Official document requesting practicum will be sent from the department office to the practicum school
Practice More than 200 hours field practice
Conclusion The presentation will be conducted after the practice (16th week of the semester)

Practicum School Selection and Criteria

A. Practicum school
  • Curriculum based on the Christian worldview
  • Capacity for trainee education (at least 10 students per grade in middle and high schools, 4 years or more since opening of the school)
B. Practicum supervisor
  • Ability to guide courses suitable for the student’s major
  • More than 5 years of educational experience​
C. Practicum hours
  • At least 200 hours in total
  • At least 10 hours of class demonstration (10 hours each in case of two majors)​

Content

  • Study guidance, role as homeroom teacher, special activities and research, educational field practice, etc.
    (refer to the Educational Field Practicum guidelines)
  • Field practice is conducted according to the self-training curriculum, internal guidelines, etc., depending on the student’s circumstances.
